Oppenheimer and Jurassic Park

I’m reading The Craftsman by Richard Sennett. In the prologue is this interesting quote from Oppenheimer:

When you see something that is technically sweet, you go ahead and do it and you argue about what to do about it only after you have had your technical success. That is the way it was with the atomic bomb.

Reminds me of Jurassic Park:

John Hammond: I don’t think you’re giving us our due credit. Our scientists have done things which nobody’s ever done before…

Dr Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should.
