Back from CRE

Just back from the Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Park, where I managed to resist the temptation to canter up the home straight or strut around the parade ring, neighing.

Anyway, I was hosting a chat show venue for Authentic which went well, despite being a long way from the action. CRE was interesting – good to meet lots of old friends on various stands. Although personally I was disappointed at the lack of tacky goods for sale. When I last went, about eight years ago, there was all kind of exotic anointing oil and holographic pictures of Jesus. This year all was remarkably tasteful. Even the neon signs showing the three kings were quite funky.

I bought, as is my habit, some books. Although I was saved from the SPCK half price sale by the fact that by the time I got there most of the books I wanted had gone. Still I bought Thomas, the Other Gospel by Nicholas Perrin, Evil and the Justice of God by Tom Wright and The Hidden Tradition of the Kingdom of God by Margaret Baker. I’m halfway through the Thomas book and it’s excellent so far.
